Reaching out to a hiring manager (plain version)

Applying through the form is one way in. Sometimes it helps to also send a short note to the recruiter or hiring manager on LinkedIn. WorkWingman can write that note for you — it never sends it, never messages anyone on your behalf, and never goes looking for people to contact.

What it actually does

  1. You tell it who to reach out to. You type in a name, title, and company — maybe someone you saw listed as the recruiter on the job posting, or someone a friend introduced you to. The app never scrapes LinkedIn or auto-discovers people for you.
  2. It writes two drafts:
  3. A short connection-request note — just enough to say who you are and what role you're applying for. LinkedIn only allows about 300 characters on these, so the app keeps it within that limit automatically.
  4. A longer message — like a condensed cover letter — that mentions the specific role, how your background fits, and reads in your own voice.
  5. You review it. Edit anything you want to change.
  6. You send it yourself — you copy the text into LinkedIn and hit send, typically using your own LinkedIn Premium InMail credits, or attach the short note to a connection request.

What it will never do

  • It will never click "send" for you.
  • It will never message anyone through a hidden API call.
  • It will never scrape LinkedIn to build a list of recruiters or hiring managers on its own.
