To run WorkWingman smoothly and securely, we pay for two main types of cloud services: 1. Fixed Baseline Costs: The necessary setup costs to keep our website address active, secure, and ready for visitors every day. 2. Variable Activity Costs: Costs that grow naturally as more job seekers use WorkWingman and run AI tasks.

Key Cost Drivers

  • Website & Security (Porkbun & Cloudflare): Annual domain name ownership and continuous protection against web attacks.
  • Cloud Infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform):
  • Cloud Run & Build: Runs the web app and updates the software.
  • Storage & Secret Manager: Securely stores app data, images, and system keys.
  • AI Capabilities (Anthropic API): Powers the intelligent job-search assistance based on how many tokens/requests users consume.

Managing the Budget

  • Fixed vs. Variable Split: Baseline services form a steady monthly floor, while usage-based costs scale directly with active users.
  • Cost per User: Every active user generates a estimated (TODO(verify)) cost based on their AI token usage, allowing clear unit economics as WorkWingman grows.
