How ForeignX makes money (plain)¶
Detail and assumptions: ../business/monetization-strategy.md.
The simple idea¶
Influencer groups already run “drops” (everyone posts, then likes and reposts each other). Spreadsheets and group chats break. ForeignX runs the drop for many groups on one app. Each group pays for its own space.
Who pays¶
The group (admin or brand), not every member. Members just log in with X and join the night’s drop.
Plans (planning numbers — not final)¶
- Free trial — try one group for two weeks.
- Starter (~$49/month per group) — daily drops, auto + manual cards, up to about 100 members.
- Pro (~$149/month) — bigger groups, extra staff, better metrics.
- Later: more staff seats, enterprise deals.
Why people stay¶
- Nightly drop just works.
- If X or automation glitches, cards in the app still let people finish likes/reposts.
- Tokens stay in KeePass, not in the spreadsheet.
What it costs us¶
Running the API on Cloud Run, Google Sheets, and especially X’s API (likes/reposts/DMs). We have to watch X costs before promising big free tiers.
What we will not sell¶
Bought engagement, fake followers, or “we guarantee viral.” This is tools for groups that already want to support each other.
Proof we still need¶
Before locking prices: run real drops with a few groups, see if the card path saves nights when auto fails, and ask admins what they’d pay.
Who sells¶
Mariah Carter owns the conversation with group admins (trial to Starter/Pro, first-week care). Engineering does not cold-pitch groups. See mariah-carter-gtm.md.
Phone apps (cost)¶
Capacitor is free. Play ~\ once, Apple ~\/year (~\ year one). Home Mac = free iOS builds. Prefer free app + group pays on the web. Details: mobile-and-stores.md.
